S.T.A.N.D. Chapter

To those who are here to make a difference...

First off, thank you for being you! This is a brief introductory note to explain what this page is for. This page is a way to direct you, an interested party, in starting a S.T.A.N.D. Solution Chapter in your area. The S.T.A.N.D. Solution is a way to empower teens to make the right decisions and encourage others to do the same! Our goal is to stand tall and stand together to overcome the negativity we all face. I hope you find this beneficial, and we would be honored if you joined with us in our fight. And remember, the time to stand is NOW!

Here's how to S.T.A.N.D. where you are!

Step 1: Pledge
To be a S.T.A.N.D. Solution member, one must sign the
S.T.A.N.D. Solution pledge. Any new members that join your chapter at a later time need to take the pledge as well and get approved by sending their membership information to info@teensofamerica.net.

Step 2: Adult Sponsor
You will need an adult to act as advisor/sponsor for your chapter. This adult can be anyone in your community. They are not required be an employee of the school you attend/are basing your chapter out of. They must be prepared to take full responsibility of the duties and activities of your branch.

Step 3: Elections

After finding a sponsor, who will oversee your chapter, you will need to hold an election to establish the rest of the leadership. Have the members deliberate and nominate fellow members for the positions of President, Vice President, and Treasurer. Hold the vote at the time and in the way that works best for you and your team.

Step 4: Location

Once the base of your team is set, you will need to decide where you will get together. It is also important to take in mind everybody's schedules and come up with a meeting time that will be convenient for everyone. Once a good time is chosen, establish how often your meetings will occur. (Meeting on a weekly basis is recommended minimal).

Step 5: Meetings
The subjects covered during your meeting should be: how to make a difference in your school and community, what kind of fundraisers you want to do, the group activities you would like to plan, and work on developing skits/plays to perform for an audience as a promotional/inspirational message to further the S.T.A.N.D., and other ways to spread and expand the S.T.A.N.D. Solution's mission.

Step 6: Outreach

To stand together, we need to continuously recruit other people to join the S.T.A.N.D. Solution. One of the ways to do this is to bring in younger teens and elementary students in to mentor and guide. They have opinions, too! It is just as important that their voices are heard, as it is that ours are. Along the lines of promotion, take in ideas from your members. Some things you can do is find out how to get in on a local parade, whether it be for a holiday or other special occasion, and put together a float and/or a banner, and come up with things to give to the people watching to let them in on the S.T.A.N.D. Solution, even if it's just a small thing. Every little bit helps. Coming up with posters for your school and  flyers for your community is a good promotional idea, as well.
